Lotus Therapy OT
Lotus Therapy OT is a mobile paediatric occupational therapy service supporting children and teens aged 2–18 years across the Lake Macquarie region. We provide therapy in the environments where clients feel most comfortable and engaged—whether at home, school, preschool/daycare, or within the community.
Founded by Robyn Evans, a dedicated paediatric occupational therapist and mum of two, Lotus Therapy OT is grounded in both clinical expertise and real-life parenting experience. Robyn graduated in 2019 and has worked in the not-for-profit sector, supporting children with a range of developmental needs. She is a registered practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Welcome to Lotus Therapy OT
Our Approach
At Lotus Therapy OT, we take a client- and family-centred approach, recognising that each child is unique. Our goal is to provide individualised support that builds on a child's strengths while addressing their challenges—helping them to thrive in everyday life and reach their full potential.
We specialise in supporting children with:
Sensory processing differences
Emotional regulation challenges
Social and behavioural difficulties
Barriers to participating in daily routines and meaningful activities
With a strong focus on early intervention and child development, our therapy is play-based, practical, and responsive to each child’s needs.
Why choose Lotus Therapy OT?
As both a therapist and a parent, Robyn understands the realities of family life and the importance of compassionate, flexible support.
She values building genuine connections with children, teens, and their families, and places a strong emphasis on understanding how each child experiences and responds to the world around them.
At Lotus Therapy OT, we believe that children grow best when they feel safe, understood, and empowered. We are committed to walking alongside families—offering support, guidance, and encouragement at every stage of their journey.
Supporting your Teen
At Lotus Therapy OT, we can support your teen by strengthening the everyday skills they need to navigate their growing independence. This includes helping young people build executive functioning skills like organisation, planning, emotional regulation, and flexible thinking; and developing skills in self‑care routines such as personal hygiene, time management, and community participation.
Because Lotus Therapy OT delivers therapy in familiar settings including the home, school, and the community—support is personalised, practical, and grounded in real-life routines.
With a family‑centred, strengths‑based approach, teens receive tailored guidance that empowers them to thrive, build independence, and reach their full potential as they move toward adulthood.

Initial Assessment - Getting to Know You
At Lotus Therapy OT, the initial assessment is an important part of getting to know you and your child. This one-hour appointment includes both the parent or caregiver and the child, and can be completed either face-to-face or via telehealth, depending on your preference.
This session allows us to begin understanding your child’s strengths, needs, and goals in a supportive and collaborative way.
Every assessment is tailored to the individual. Following this initial session, we’ll continue to work together to develop a personalised therapy plan that best supports your child’s development and your family’s priorities.
